Footzil locks predictions automatically so no one can predict a match knowing the result.

How locking works

Each round has a single deadline: 1 hour before the first match in that round kicks off. Once that moment passes, the entire round locks — every match in it, including ones played days later.

There is no separate deadline per game. The round closes once, at the earliest kickoff in that round.

Schedule changes

FIFA can change match dates and times at any time. Footzil always recomputes deadlines dynamically — your deadline is always 1 hour before whichever game in the round ends up kicking off first.

Knockout rounds in One-Time++ and One-Time×2

When the group stage ends, the official Round of 32 (including the 8 best third-placed teams) is validated and confirmed before knockout predictions open. This takes a short validation window. In the meantime you’ll see the projected Round of 32 based on the current standings; once it’s confirmed, we’ll notify you by email and predictions will open.

One submission window for the entire tournament. Once it closes, every prediction is frozen.

Round states

Each round can be in one of three states:

• 🟢 Open — you can predict.
• 🔒 Locked — the deadline has passed; all matches in the round are frozen.
• ⏳ Not yet available — waiting for the previous phase to finish so we know which teams advanced.

What about individual award bonuses?

The Golden Boot, Golden Glove, and Golden Ball bonuses (Pro / ProX) lock 1 hour before the first match of the World Cup. After that they can’t be changed.
